October was a pretty busy month for me. Mom, Maggie, and I flew to Philadelphia for my  friend Lindy's wedding, which took place at a beautiful renovated barn on Oct. 10. We had fun, though there wasn't time to do much sight seeing.  The biggest challenge we faced was finding a patch of grass so  Maggie could pee. I finished reading Carmella’s Quest into digital audio format at the SC State Talking Book Library yesterday. I’ll have to go in one more time to do any needed edits, but the book itself is done. I'm very pleased to report that I am  reconnected via  FaceBook with Tim, Lynn, and Scott. Lynn actually found me.  She and I had been out of touch the longest, since late 2000, I'm thinking.  I told her Scott and I had both been trying to locate her and got them in touch. First of all, I want to express how thankful I am that my grandparents and other family members were not injured during the tornados that touched down last Friday night (April 11).  My Granny and Pap-paw's neighborhood was hit hard and there is plenty of property damage, uprooted trees,  power outages, road closings, and so on. The official launch party for Carmella's Quest took place on Saturday,  March 21,  at the Irmo offices of Crossroads Counseling Center.  My  boss, Larue Bettis, hosted the party and Mom  helped with set up and refreshments.  I'm very appreciative to both of them for all their hard work, great food,  and generally making the party a success.
